Weight-ing Game

So, I was feeling very lucky so far in the weight gain department. The first 14 weeks I didn't gain any weight. Great! I was hopeful that this would mean I would keep this going and when I had my 25lb baby, I would be at my goal weight a few days post delivery....that is a realistic goal...right?!
Well, my dreams were dashed rapidily when the apparent honeymoon of weight gain was over. Yes, I gained 5lbs in 2 days just recently! Yes, I have also done the calculations and I will, at this rate, be fork lifted into the delivery room with an additional 400+ lbs...Good thing Cody loves my sweet spirit and the goodness of my, rapidly artery clogging, heart.

Ha! You might want to rethink your calculations, funny girl! I've found that each weigh-in is totally different and that the progression is anything but regular. Most of my weight gains from one appt. to the next (every 4 weeks) have been about 4 or so lbs., but on one especially hungry month, I was up 11 lbs. from the last weigh in. Then, this last time I had actually lost 3 lbs., which was fine with the midwives because a little fluctuation is normal and okay. I attributed my heavy eating month with a growth spurt on Giovanna's end, but maybe it was just my own ravishing hunger!

And anyway, enjoy every pound! There is nothing so gorgeous as a pregnant woman, and gaining usually means the baby is gaining, which is bliss...

I like to gain ten pounds the first trimester just as a "congratulations, you're pregnant!" gift to myself. It mostly doesn't get much better from there, so it sounds to me like you're doing just fine!

girl - gain on, gain on... pregnancy is all about eating and eating and eating (well, in my book anyway) - lick the stick of butter if you feel like it!

With each of my babies the 20 wk appt. registered 10lbs gained in one month. oh the feeling!

I'm so glad you commented so I could find you. I kept forgetting to write down you blog address when you would text it to me.

14 weeks!!!! That's awesome!

When is weight not stressful for women? I'm still trying to loose my baby weight so I obviously have no advice to give.

It was so nice to read your feelings on your hardships with your past pregnancy's. We all have so much to learn from each other but we never can unless we open up.

Your so cute! Don't worry you had to make up for the no weight gaining at the beginning. My motto is 'I am going to get fat anyways so I might as well enjoy it.' It works great for me:)
